1.    The People's Republic of Bangladesh has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of the Gas Transmission and Development Project and it is intended that a part of the funds will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for which these Bidding Documents are issued.

2.    The Gas Transmission Company Limited (GTCL) (the Purchaser) now invites two (2) sealed bids from eligible bidders from member countries of the ADB for the supply and delivery of (I) Pipeline Induction Bends and (II) Pipeline Ball Valves, for the construction of 323.90mm OD 53.00 km length High Pressure (1000 Psig) Natural Gas Transmission Pipeline from Bonpara to Rajshahi.

3.    International Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: Two-Envelope Bidding Procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries.

5.    To purchase the Bidding Documents in English bidders should:

  • submit a written application to the address above
  • pay a non-refundable fee as mentioned in the table above in the form of Pay Order/Demand Draft in favour of Gas Transmission Company Limited from 4 March 2008 during working hours on all working days. No Bid Document will be sold on the closing date of Bid.

6.    Bid must be delivered:

  • to the address above
  • on or before the date and time in accordance with the above table and the Bidding Documents. Late bids shall be rejected.
  • together with a bid security as mentioned in the table above.

7.    Bids will be opened on the above mentioned date and time in the presence of Bidder/Bidder's representative(s) who choose to attend. If Bids cannot be received or opened due to any unavoidable circumstances or holiday on scheduled date and time, Bids shall be received and opened at the same venue and times on the subsequent working day.

8.    The Purchaser will not be responsible for any cost or expense incurred by Bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of Bid.
