1. The People's Republic of Bangladesh has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Gas Transmission and Development Project. Part of this loan will be used for payments under the contract named above. Bidding is open to bidders from eligible source countries of ADB.

2. The Sylhet Gas Fields Limited (SGFL), a company of Bangladesh Oil, Gas & Mineral Corporation (Petrobangla) now invites sealed bids from the eligible bidders from member countries of the ADB for the following contract:

Supply of Geophone String for appraisal of 5 gas fields namely Titas and Bakhrabad gas fields under BGFCL and Sylhet, Kailashtila and Rashidpur gas fields under SGFL to upgrade the estimated gas in place and also to determine the exact location for future drilling activities.

4. International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope Bidding Procedure and is open to Bidders from eligible source countries.

6. To purchase the bidding documents in English, eligible bidders should:

  • Write to the address above
  • Pay a non-refundable fee of US$145.00 or Tk10,000.00 by pay order/demand draft/cash in favor of "Gas Transmission Company Limited."

7. Deliver your bid:

  • To the address above
  • On or before the deadline of 20 March 2008, 12:00hrs (BST)
  • Together with a Bid Security of Tk2,600,000.00 or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. Bids will be opened immediately after the deadline in the presence of bidders' representatives who choose to attend. Late bids shall be rejected.

8. Sylhet Gas Fields Limited will not be responsible for costs or expenses incurred by Bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of Bids.

9. When comparing Bids, ADB's Domestic Preference Scheme will be applied in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Bidding Document.
