Invitation for Bids

1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in the adb.org on 12 October 2006.

2. The People's Republic of Bangladesh has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) toward the cost of Second Rural Infrastructure Improvement Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contracts for which this Invitation for Bids is issued.

3. The Project Director, RIIP-II, Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders from member countries of ADB for the procurement of the following:

4. International Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope bidding procedure and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries.

5. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the Bidding Document from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm during working days at the address given below.

6. To purchase the Bidding Document in English, eligible bidders should:
  • write to the address above
  • pay a nonrefundable fee of Tk. 2,500.0 or US$40.0 for each package

7. Deliver your bids:
  • to the address above
  • on or before the deadline: 14.00 hours; 18 September 2007
  • together with a Bid Security mentioned in the above table.

Late Bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders or his representatives who choose to attend at the address below at 14:30 on 18 September 2007.

8. The Project Director, RIIP II, LGED will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of bids.
