1. This Invitation for Bids (IFB) follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in the ADB's Business Opportunities on October 2006.
2. The Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh has received a loan from ADB towards the cost of Second Rural Infrastructure Improvement Project: RIIP-II, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract for which this IFB is issued.
3. The Project Director, Second Rural Infrastructure Improvement Project: RIIP-II, Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders from member countries of ADB for the procurement of the following Goods for the purpose of the Project.

4. International Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope Bidding Procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries.
5. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the bidding documents during normal office hours (from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) on all working days up till 24 February 2008 at the following address:

6. To purchase the bidding documents in English, eligible bidders should:
- submit a written application to the above address
- pay a non-refundable fee for each set as mentioned above until 24 February 2008, the method of payment will be in the form of cash or bank draft in favor of the Project Director, RIIP-II, LGED. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.
7. Bids must be delivered to the address mentioned above at or before 2:00 p.m. on or before 25 February 2008. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security mentioned above. Late Bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the Bidders or his representatives who choose to attend at the address above at 2:30 p.m. on 25 February 2008.
8. The Project Director will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of bids.
