1.    This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in the ADB's Business Opportunities on October 2006.

2.    The Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Second Rural Infrastructure Improvement Project: RIIP-II, ADB Loan no. 2254 BAN (SF), and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract for which this Invitation for Bid (IFB) is issued.

3.    The Project Director, Second Rural Infrastructure Improvement Project: RIIP-II, Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders from member countries of ADB for the procurement of the following Goods under Package No RIIP-II /LGED/BAN-2254/ICB/ G07.

4.    International Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope Bidding Procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries.

5.    Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the following address during normal office hours (from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM) on all working days up to 21 August 2009:

6.    To purchase the Bidding Document in English, bidders should:

  • submit a written application to the above address until 12 August 2009;
  • pay a non-refundable fee as mentioned in the table above, in the form of Cash/ bank draft/Pay Order in favor of Project Director, RIIP-II, LGED.

7.    Bids must be delivered:

  • to the address above;
  • on or before 14:00 hours on or before 24 August 2009. Late Bids shall be rejected.
  • All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security as mentioned in the table above.

Bids will be opened in the presence of the Bidders or his authorized representatives who choose to attend at the address above at 15:00 on 24 August 2009.

8.    LGED will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of bids.
