1. The People's Republic of Bangladesh has received loans from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Sustainable Power Sector Development Project and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of the loans to payments under the contracts named above.
2. The Dhaka Power Distribution Company Limited (DPDC), the Employer, now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the above two packages to be executed within the area mentioned in the bidding documents. The details and specifications are provided in the Bidding Documents.

3. International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: Two-Envelope bidding procedure and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries.
4. To obtain further information and inspect the Bidding Document, bidders should contact the address below from 09:00 to 14:00 hours (Sundays to Thursdays except government holidays):

5. To purchase the Bidding Document in English, eligible bidders should:
- write to the address above
- pay a nonrefundable fee as mentioned in the table above in the form of demand draft or pay order in favor of "Dhaka Power Distribution Company Limited".
6. Pre-bid meetings will be held on 23 October 2007 for Package no. DPDC/SPSDP/2007/01 and on 25 October 2007 for Package no. DPDC/SPSDP/2007/02 at the address in Clause 4 above.
7. Deliver your bid:
- to the address in Clause 4 above
- on or before the dates indicated in the table below. Late bids will be rejected.

8. Bids will be opened at 12:30 hours (BST) on the day of submission in the presence of bidders' representatives who chose to attend at the address given in Clause 4 above.
9. DPDC will not be responsible for costs or expenses incurred by bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of bids.
10. In comparison of bids, ADB's Domestic Preference Scheme will be applied in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Bidding Documents.
