Bihar State Highways II Project
India intends to apply for a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for the Bihar State Highways II Project.
The proposed investment project will provide support to rehabilitate and improve state highways in the state of Bihar. The project comprises improvement of about 900 km of state highways to two lane standards.
Procurement to be financed under the Project will be carried out in accordance with ADB's Procurement Guidelines 2006 as amended from time to time.
The supervision consultants to be financed under this project will be recruited in accordance with ADB's Guidelines on the Use of Consultants 2007 as amended from time to time.
ADB would finance those roads, which meet the prescribed eligibility criteria. An advance action on procurement was approved on 31 August 2009. The Bihar State Road Development Corporation Limited (BSRDC) of the Government of Bihar will be the Executing Agency responsible for overall implementation of the Project.
The first batch of bidding document is expected to be available in October 2009, subject to nominal charge.
