Contract Title:Procurement of Hot Line Maintenance Tools, Survey Equipments,
Stringing T & P , and Testing Equipments
Extended Deadline for Bids:25 & 26 September 2007

1. India has applied for financing from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) toward the cost of Madhya Pradesh Power Sector Investment Program - Transmission Component Project (Third Tranche) and it is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be used for payments under the contract named above. Bidding is open to bidders from eligible source countries of the ADB.

2. The Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company Limited (MPPTCL) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the following:

Details and specifications are provided in the Bidding Document. Bidders are free to bid for one lot or a combination of lots.

3. International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope bidding procedure and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries.

4. To obtain further information and inspect the Bidding Document, bidders should contact the following from 13:00 to 17:00 hours during working days starting 14 August 2007.

5. To purchase the Bidding Document in English, eligible bidders should:
  • pay a nonrefundable fee of Rs.10,000 or US$200 by demand draft or banker's cheque payable to RAO, MPPTCL, Jabalpur (MP) India
  • the documents will be sent by post

6. A pre-bid conference will be held tentatively at 15:00 hours on 3 September 2007.

7. Bidders must deliver their bids:
  • to the address above
  • at or before 14:30 hours, on the dates stated in the above table
  • together with a Bid Security stated in the above table

8. Bids will be opened at 15:30 hours on the specified date given in the above table, in the presence of bidders' representatives who choose to attend at the address above. Late bids will be rejected.

9. The MPPTCL will not be responsible for costs or expenses incurred by bidders in connection with the delivery or preparation of bids.

10. In the comparison of bids, ADB's Domestic Preference Scheme will be applied in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Bidding Document.
