Proposed MFF Uttarakhand Power Sector Investment Program (UPSIP) - Project 2
India has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) toward the cost of MFF Uttarakhand Power Sector Investment Program (UPSIP). UPSID contributes to economic development in Uttarakhand State and thereby in India through expanded power supplies and associated transmission system expansion to facilitate sector sustainability and protect the environment.
The program finances, through ADB's multitranche financing facility (MFF), physical investments in hydroelectric power generating facilities in the state of Uttarakhand and transmission expansion to enable a more environmentally friendly power generation and efficient transfer of power within the state, and the sale of excess power to Northern Region Grid. Under the MFF function, in Project 2, the projects proposed are Part A: Transmission Component and Part B: Capacity Development Component. Part A consists of 400kV D/C Loharinagpara - Koteshwar Transmission Line (90km) and 400 kV Srinagar Substation. Part B consists of Consulting Services for Human Resources Development (HRD) and Corporate Management (CM) and consulting services for PMO Implementation Support.
The scope includes construction of Turnkey Plant for 400kV D/C Loharinagpara - Koteshwar Transmission Line (90km) and 400 kV Srinagar Substation, through International Competitive Bidding.
Consulting Services are also required Human Resources Development (HRD) and Corporate Management (CM) and for PMO Implementation Support.
Project Management Office (PMO) Uttarakhand Power Sector Investment Program is the Executing Agency (EA) responsible for overall implementation of the program and the Implementation Agency (IA) for Part B: Capacity Development Component. Power Transmission Corporation of Uttarakhand Ltd. (PTCUL) is the IA for Part A: Transmission Component.
