1. India has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Kerala Sustainable Urban Development Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract for which this Invitation for Bids is issued.

2. The Project Management Unit, Kerala Sustainable Urban Development Project (KSUDP) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the following:

(Details and specifications are provided in the Bidding Document).

The bid should include all the requirements for supply and services included in the contract package. Offers for partial bids will not be considered.

3. National Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB'S Single-Stage: One-Envelope Bidding procedure and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries. Only eligible bidders with qualifications as prescribed in the Bidding Document should participate in the bidding.

4. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the Bidding Document from the address given below. The Bidding Document can also be viewed at www.ksudp.org

5. The Bidding Document in the English language, may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of Rs 10,000. The method of payment will be by demand draft in favor of the Project Director. The Bidding Document will be sent by courier for an additional fee of Rs. 500 for domestic delivery or Rs.3,000 for overseas delivery. Additional copies can be obtained for Rs. 5,000 per copy. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.

6. A Pre-bid meeting shall be held at the address given below at 11:00 a.m. (IST) on 6 August 2007.

7. Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 13:00 hours (IST) on 16 August 2007. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security mentioned in the above table in the form of bank guarantee from any nationalised bank in India and valid for a period of 180 days from the opening date. Bids will be opened at 14:30 hours(IST) on 16 August 2007 in the presence of the bidders' representatives who choose to attend at the address stated below. Late bids shall be rejected.

8. The Employer will not be responsible for costs or expenses incurred by bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of bids.
