1.    India has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) toward the cost of Madhya Pradesh Power Sector Investment Program - Transmission Component Project (Projects 1 & 3) and it is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan to eligible payments under the contract for procurement of Towers and Erection of 220kV & 132kV Transmission Lines.

2.    The Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company Limited (MPPTCL) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the following:

Bidders are free to bid for one lot, any combination or all lots.

3.    International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope Bidding Procedure and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries.

4.    To obtain further information and inspect the Bidding Document, bidders should contact:

5.    To purchase the Bidding Document in English, eligible bidders should:

  • pay a nonrefundable fee of Rs.10,000 or US$200 by demand draft or banker's cheque payable to RAO, MPPTCL, Jabalpur (M.P.) India
  • the documents will be sent by post or obtained by hand. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery of documents by registered post.

6.    Bidders must deliver their bids:

  • to the address above
  • at or before 14:30 hours, on 25 February 2009
  • together with a Bid Security of

    Lot I: US$ 79,500 or INRs 3,732,000
    Lot II: US$ 42,400 or INRs 1,992,000
    Lot III: US$ 37,600 or INRs 1,766,000

7.    Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened at 15:30 hours on 25 February 2009 in the presence of bidders' representatives who chose to attend at the address above.

8.    The MPPTCL will not be responsible for costs or expenses incurred by bidders in connection with the delivery or preparation of bids.

9.    In the comparison of bids, ADB's Domestic Preference Scheme will be applied in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Bidding Document.
