1.    India has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Madhya Pradesh Power Sector Investment Program -Transmission Component (Project - 1) and it is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for procurement of materials for EHV substations.

2.    The Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company Limited (MPPTCL) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the following packages:

Bidders are free to bid for one lot, any combination or all lots.

3.    International competitive biddings will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope Bidding Procedure and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries.

4.    To obtain further information and inspect the Bidding Document, bidders should contact the following from 14:00 to 17:00 hours during working days starting 15 June 2009:

5.    To purchase the Bidding Document in English, eligible bidders should:

  1. visit the office of MPPTCL at the address indicated above and pay a non-refundable fee of Rs. 10,000 or US$ 200 payable by demand draft or banker's cheque payable to RAO, MPPTCL, JABALPUR (M.P.) India.
    or
  2. request for delivery by sending a written application to the office of MPPTCL at the address indicated above. The application must include a demand draft or banker's cheque payable to RAO, MPPTCL, JABALPUR (M.P.) India, for the amount of Rs.11,000 (domestic delivery) or US$300 (overseas delivery). No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.

6.    Bidders must deliver their bids:

  • to the address above;
  • on or before 14:30 hrs on the specified bid submission date indicated in the table below. Late Bids shall be rejected.

7.    All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security as indicated in the table below for each lot. Bid security shall also be acceptable in any freely convertible currency for the amounts equivalent to US$ as mentioned below at the prevailing exchange rate on the first working day of the calendar month, one month prior to the date of bid opening:

8.    Bids for each package will be opened at 15:30 hours on the bid opening date as indicted in the Table above, in the presence of bidders' representatives who chose to attend at the address indicated above.

9.    The MPPTCL will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by bidders in connection with the delivery or preparation of bids.

10.    In the comparison of bids, ADB's Domestic Preference Scheme will be applied in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Bidding Document.
