1.    India has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Madhya Pradesh Power Sector Investment Program - Transmission Component Project (Project 3) and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to eligible payments under the contract for procurement of conductor for EHV lines and substations.

2.    The Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company Limited (MPPTCL) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the following package:

Bidders are free to bid for one lot or both lots.

3.    International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope Bidding Procedure and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries.

from 14:00 to 17:00 hours during working days starting 10 March 2008.

5.    To purchase the Bidding Document in English, eligible bidders should:

  • submit a written application to the address above
  • pay a nonrefundable fee of Rs.10,000 or US$200 by demand draft or banker's cheque payable to RAO, MPPTCL, Jabalpur (M.P.) India
  • the documents will be obtained by hand or sent by domestic post or by courier outside India at additional cost.
  • No liability will be assumed by MPPTCL for loss or late delivery of the bidding documents.

6.    Bidders must deliver their bids:

  • to the address above
  • on or before 14:30 hours, on 2 May 2008
  • together with a Bid Security as stated in the table in para. 2.

7.    Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened at 15:30 hours on 2 May 2008 in the presence of bidders' representatives who chose to attend at the address above.

8.    The MPPTCL will not be responsible for costs or expenses incurred by bidders in connection with the delivery or preparation of bids.

9.    In the comparison of bids, ADB's Domestic Preference Scheme will be applied in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Bidding Document.
