1.    India has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) toward the cost of Madhya Pradesh Power Sector Investment Program - Transmission Component Project (Project 3) and it is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be used to eligible payments under the contract for procurement of disc insulators.

2.    The Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company Limited (MPPTCL) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the following package:

Bidders are free to bid for one lot or both lots.

3.    International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope Bidding Procedure and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries of ADB.

4.   To obtain further information and inspect the Bidding Document, bidders should contact the address below from 14:00 to 17:00 hours during working days starting 5 May 2008:

5.    To purchase the Bidding Document in English, eligible bidders should:

  • pay a non-refundable fee of Rs.10,000 or US$200 by demand draft or banker's cheque payable to RAO, MPPTCL, Jabalpur (M.P.) India;
  • the documents will be obtained by hand or sent by domestic post or by courier outside India at additional cost. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery of the bidding documents.

6.    Bidders must deliver their bids:

  • to the address above;
  • at or before 14:30 hours, on 16 June 2008;
  • together with a Bid Security as stated in the table in Para. 2.

7.    Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened at 15:30 hours on 16 June 2008 in the presence of bidders' representatives who chose to attend at the address above.

8.    The MPPTCL will not be responsible for costs or expenses incurred by bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of bids.

9.    In the comparison of bids, ADB's Domestic Preference Scheme will be applied in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Bidding Document.
