Contract No.:KUKL/DNI/03/18 - Supply and Delivery of high pressure hydraulic sewer cleaner (Truck Mounted Jetting Equipment/Machine) also referred as Jetting Trucks
Deadline for Bids:21 October 2009, 12:00 Noon Local Time

1.   The Government of Nepal has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Melamchi Water Supply Project, Kathmandu Valley Sub-Project (Subproject 2). Part of the proceeds of this loan will be used for payments under the contract named above. Bidding is open to eligible bidders from eligible source countries of ADB.

2.   The Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited (KUKL) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the supply and delivery of Vehicle Mounted High Pressure Jetting Equipment (Jetting Trucks) as follows:

  • Medium capacity (Jetting Trucks) in the range of 3000- 4000 liters - 2 sets
  • Large capacity (Jetting Trucks) in the range of 6000- 7000 liters - 2 sets

3.   International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope Bidding Procedure .

5.   Bidders will be required in their bids to demonstrate the following:

  • Minimum average annual turnover of US $ 0.75 Million or Equivalent amount in NRs. calculated as total certified payments received for contracts in progress or completed, within the last 3 years.
  • Has successfully completed a Contract as main Supplier of goods of similar nature over a three year period ending on the deadline for bid submission.
  • Has assurance of a service facility and the availability of spare parts would not be problem in the Purchaser's Country.

6.    To purchase the Bidding Document in English, eligible bidders should:

  1. visit the office of Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited at the address indicated above and pay a non-refundable fee of NRs 5,000 or US $ 75 to the following Bank account;
    or
  2. request for delivery by sending a written application to The Project Director at the address indicated above. The application must be supported by payment of NRs. 12,500 (domestic delivery) or US $ 225 (overseas delivery) by International Bank Transfer to the following account. Documents will be sent by courier. No liability will be accepted for the loss or late delivery.

7. Deliver your Bid:

  • to the address above;
  • on or before 21 October 2009, 12:00 Noon Local Time. Late bids will not be accepted.
  • together with a bid security of US$ 7,000 or Nepalese Currency (NRs.) 500,000.

Bids will be opened immediately after the deadline in the presence of bidders' representatives who choose to attend. In case the day of final bid submission falls on a public holiday, the final Bid submission date shall be following working day.

8.   The Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by the Bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of Bids.
