1. The Government of Nepal has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Melamchi Water Supply Project, Kathmandu Valley Sub-Project (Subproject 2). Part of the proceeds of this loan will be used for payments under the contract named above. Bidding is open to eligible bidders from eligible source countries of ADB.
2. The Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited (KUKL) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the supply and delivery of following Truck Mounted Water Tanker (also referred as Water Tanker):

Bidder may bid for one or more lots. The above mentioned items have to be delivered to KUKL Central Store, Kathmandu, Nepal. Details and specification are provided in the Bidding Document.
3. International Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope Bidding Procedure.
4. Only eligible bidders with the following key qualifications-should participate in this bidding:
- Following minimum average annual turnover calculated as total certified payments received for contracts in progress or completed, within the last 3 years.
Lot 1 US$ 180,000 or Equivalent Nepalese Currency
Lot 2 US$ 260,000 or Equivalent Nepalese Currency
Lot 3 US$ 240,000 or Equivalent Nepalese Currency - Has successfully completed a Contract as main Supplier of goods of similar nature for related lot over a three year period ending on the deadline for bid submission.
- Has a service facility and the availability of spare parts would not be problem in the Purchaser's Country.

6. To purchase the Bidding Document in English, eligible bidders should either:
- visit the office of Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited at the address indicated above and pay a non-refundable fee of NRs 5,000 or US $ 75 by direct deposit to the following bank account;
or
- request for delivery by sending a written application to The Project Director at the address indicated above. The application must be supported by payment of NRs. 12,000 deposited in the following bank for domestic delivery or US $ 250 for overseas delivery by International Bank Transfer to the following account.

7. Bids must be delivered:
- to the address above;
- on or before 12:00 Noon Local Time on 20 November 2009. Late bids will not be accepted.
- together with a bid security of:
Lot 1 US$ 1,700 or NRs 130,000
Lot 2 US$ 2,500 or NRs 190,000
Lot 3 US$ 2,400 or NRs 180,000
8. Bids will be opened immediately after the deadline in the presence of bidders' representatives who choose to attend. In case the day of final Bid submission falls on a public holiday, the final Bid submission date shall be the following working day.
9. The Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by the bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of bids.
10. ADB's Domestic Preference shall not apply.
