1.    The Government of Pakistan has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Balochistan Road Development Sector Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract the procurement of Non-Destructive Testing Equipment and Asphalt Batching Plant.

2.    The Project Director, (PMU) Balochistan Road Development Sector Project, now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for the Procurement of following package:

3.    National competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope Bidding Procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries.

4.    Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from the Project Director, (PMU) Balochistan Road Development Sector Project, and inspect the Bidding Document at the address given below, from 9.00 AM to 2.00 PM from 12 August 2009 to 25 August 2009.

5.    To purchase the Bidding Document in English, bidders should:

  • submit a written application to the address below;
  • pay a non-refundable fee of Rs.5,000 for each Bidding Document. The method of payment will be through bank draft in favour of Project Director, (PMU) Balochistan Road Development Sector Project, Quetta. The document will be sent by courier service. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.

6.    Bids must be delivered;

  • to the address below;
  • on or before 1:00 PM on 31 August 2009. Late bids shall be rejected.
  • All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of 2% of the bid price in local currency or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency.

Bids will be opened in the presence of the Bidders' representatives who choose to attend at the address below at 1:30 PM on 31 August 2009.

7.    The Project Director, (PMU) Balochistan Road Development Sector Project, will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by Bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of Bids.
