1. The Islamic Republic of Pakistan has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Power Distribution Enhancement Investment Program, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract for Procurement of Modernization Equipment.
2. The Islamabad Electric Supply Company Limited now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for Procurement of Modernization Equipment in four (4) Lots given below. The bidder may quote for the entire quantity of single or all lots.

3. International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope bidding procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries of ADB.
4. The bidder (individual firm/JV) must have at least five (05) years or more experience in Supply/ Manufacturing of above Material and three (03) years of successful continuous operational experience of such goods/ equipments.
5. Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from Islamabad Electric Supply Company and inspect the Bidding Document at the address given below, from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm.

6. The Bidding Document, in the English language, may be purchased by interested bidders from 20 March 2010, on the submission of a written application to the above address and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Rs. 8,000/- or US$ 100. The method of payment will be by bank draft from any scheduled bank of Pakistan in favor of the Employer. The documents may be collected in person or may be sent by courier services for an additional fee of Rs. 2,000/- for domestic delivery or US$ 100/- for overseas delivery. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.
7. Bids must be delivered to the above address at or before 10:30 am, on 4 May 2010. All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of an amount not less than 2 % of the bid price for each lot. The bid security will be deposited in the name of Chief Engineer (Development), IESCO Islamabad.
Late bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidder(s)/authorized representative(s) who choose to attend at the above address immediately after bid submission deadline.
8. The Islamabad Electric Supply Company Limited will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by Bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of Bids.
9. In the comparison of Bids, ADB's Domestic Preference Scheme will be applied in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Instructions to Bidders.
