1.    The Islamic Republic of Pakistan has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) toward the cost of Power Transmission distribution Improvement Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract for Procurement of Cables and Conductors.

2.    Lahore Electric Supply Company now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for Procurement of Cables and Conductors in three lots. Bidders are required to offer for complete lot. Bidders may bid for 1 lot or any combination of lots.

3.    National competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope Bidding Procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries.

4.    Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from Chief Engineer Development LESCO and inspect the Bidding Document at the address given below, from 8 am to 2:30 pm.

5.    To purchase the complete set of Bidding Document in English bidders should:

  • submit a written application to the address below;
  • pay a nonrefundable fee of Rs.6,000 or US $ 75. The method of payment will be by Bank Draft from any scheduled bank of Pakistan in favor of LESCO 22-A Queens Road Lahore. The document will be handed over in person to the bidder or his/her representative. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.

6.    Bids must be delivered:

  • to the address below;
  • on or before 11 am on 24 September 2009. Late bids shall be rejected.
  • All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security at least 2% of the bid price.

Bids will be opened immediate after the deadline in the presence of the Bidders' representatives who chose to attend.

7.    LESCO will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by Bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of Bids.
