1. The Islamic Republic of Pakistan has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Power Transmission distribution Improvement Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract for Procurement of Procurement of Line Hardware.
2. The Peshawar Electricity Supply Company, PESCO (the Employer) invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for supply of Line Hardware.

3. Only eligible bidders with the following key qualifications should participate in this bidding:
- The bidder (individual firm/JV) must have at least 5 years design manufacturing of similar goods/equipment and three years operational experience in Supply / Manufacturing of above Material. In case of JV, at least one partner should fulfill the said manufacturing experience pertaining to the individuals obligations inspect of manufacturing as JV agreement between the parties (JV Agreement) shall be provided with the bid.
- The contractor should have sound financial status. The difference between cash in hand and short term liabilities should be adequate enough for smooth execution of this project.
4. International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope Bidding Procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries.

6. To purchase the bidding documents in English, bidders should:
- visit the office of PESCO at the address indicated above and pay a non-refundable fee of PRs.4,000 or US$ 50 by Bank Draft from any Scheduled Bank of Pakistan in favor of PESCO, Shami Road Wapda House Peshawar (Pakistan),
or
- request for delivery by sending a written application to PESCO at the address indicated above, requesting for Bidding Document No. ADB-PESCO-07-2009, for Procurement of Line Hardware. The method of payment will be by Bank Draft from any Scheduled Bank of Pakistan in favor of PESCO, Shami Road, Wapda House, Peshawar (Pakistan), for the amount of PKR 6,000 (local delivery) or $100 (overseas delivery). The document will be sent by courier service. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.
6. Deliver your bid:
- to the address above;
- on or before 10:30 am on 28 September 2009.
- together with a Bid Security for each Lot of not less than 2% for each Lot is required.
Bids will be opened immediately after the deadline in the presence of bidders' representatives who choose to attend.
7. PESCO will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by Bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of Bids.
8. When comparing Bids, ADB's Domestic Preference Scheme will be applied.
