1. The Islamic Republic of Pakistan has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Power Distribution Enhancement Investment Program, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract for Procurement of 132/11.5KV, 31.5/40 MVA & 132/11.5KV, 20/26 MVA Power Transformers.
2. Faisalabad Electric Supply Company Limited (FESCO) now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for Procurement of Power Transformers as under.

3. International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope Bidding Procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries.
4. Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from Faisalabad Electric Supply Company Limited and inspect the Bidding Document at the address given below, from 8.00 am to 01:00 pm. from 12 January 2009.
5. To purchase the Bidding Document in English, bidders should:
- visit the office of FESCO, at the address indicated below and pay a non-refundable fee of PKR 12,000 or US$150 by bank draft from any scheduled bank of Pakistan in favor of FESCO or through fund transfer,
or
- request for delivery by sending a written application to FESCO at the address indicated below. The method of payment will be by bank draft from any scheduled bank of Pakistan in favor of FESCO or through fund transfer, for the amount of PKR20,000 (local delivery) or $250 (overseas delivery). The document will be sent by express airmail. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.
6. Deliver your bid:
- to the address below;
- on or before 11:00 am, on 2 March 2009. Late bids shall be rejected;
- All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security as mentioned in the table above.
Bids will be opened in the presence of the Bidders' representatives, who choose to attend at the address below at 11:30 am on 2 March 2009.
7. FESCO will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by Bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of Bids.
8. In the comparison of Bids, ADB's Domestic Preference Scheme will be applied in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Bidding Document.
