1.    The Republic of Uzbekistan has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Kashkadarya and Navoi Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Sector Project. Part of this loan will be used for payments under the contract named above. Bidding is open for all bidders from eligible source countries of ADB.

2.    The Project Implementation Units of "Uzkommunkhizmat" Agency in the cities of Karshi (the Employer) invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the construction of water supply and sanitation works in rural settlements of Mirishkor district of Kashkadrya province (the Works) (lot 10).

3.    Only eligible Bidders with the following key qualification should participate in the bidding:

  • The Bidder should possess experience for the last 3 years of construction in a role of contractor or subcontractor;
  • The Bidder should possess experience for the last 3 years of construction of water pipe networks from not metal pipes ø 50-300 mm, including laying of networks in narrow streets;
  • The Bidder should possess experience of constructions of buildings and structures of industrial destination (pump stations, reservoir and auxiliary buildings and structures);
  • The Bidder should have minimal average annual construction turnover for the last 3 years;

5.    National Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single Stage: One-Envelope Bidding Procedure.

6.    To purchase the Bidding Documents in English, eligible bidders should:

  1. visit the office of Project Management Unit at the address indicated above and pay a nonrefundable fee of UZS 200,000 or US$ 150 in the form of bank check or remittance to the account indicated below;
    OR
  2. request for delivery by sending a written application to the address above requesting for the Bidding Document for 2208/K/3-10 "Water Supply and Sanitation of Mirishkor district of Kashkadarya province (WDC "Kumbangik", WDC "Kurama", WDC "Nayiston", Trunk mains, Water networks, VIP's)(lot 10). Pay a non-refundable fee of UZS 300,000 (local delivery) or US$220 (overseas delivery). The document will be sent by courier upon receipt of advance payment to the following account. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.

7.    Bids must be delivered:

  • to the above address;
  • on or before 16:00 hrs on 17 August 2009.

Bids will be opened immediately after the deadline in the presence of bidders' representatives who choose to attend.

8.    Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of UZS 31.0 million or equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. A Bid Security in other currencies shall be calculated at the exchange rate set by the Central Bank of Uzbekistan on the date of issuance of the Bid Security.

9.    The Project Implementation Unit of "Uzkommunkhizmat" Agency in the city of Karshi will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by the bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of bids.
