Contract No. and Title : 2466/ICB/01: Procurement of Heavy Machinery and Spare Parts for ME "Suvokova" of Surkhandarya region

1.    The Republic of Uzbekistan has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Surkhandarya Water Supply and Sanitation Project, and it is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be used for payments under the contract for the procurement of Heavy Machinery and Spare Parts for ME "Suvokova" of Surkhandarya region.

2.    ADB's Project Management Unit (PMU) of Uzbek Communal Services Agency (PMU UCSA) now invites sealed Bids from the eligible Bidders for:

Lot 1: Procurement of Excavators
Lot 2: Procurement of Truck Cranes

3.   International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single Stage: One-Envelope Bidding Procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries.

4.   Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the Bidding Document at the office of PMU UCSA at the address stated below from 09:00 to 18:00 hours.

5.   To purchase the Bidding Document in English, bidders should:

  1. visit the office of PMU at the address indicated below and pay a nonrefundable fee of US$ 200 or equivalent amount converted to Uzbek Soums by official rate of the Central Bank of Republic of Uzbekistan on the day of purchase of the Bidding Document for local participants. The method of payment will be direct deposit to the account indicated below;

  2. request for delivery by sending a written application to the PMU at the address indicated below. Pay a non-refundable fee of US$ 200 (local delivery) or US$ 250 (overseas delivery). The document will be sent by courier upon receipt of advance payment to the following account. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.

6.    Bids must be delivered:

  • to the address above;
  • on or before 15:00 (Tashkent time) on 30 September 2009. Late Bids shall be rejected.
  • All bids must be accompanied by a Bid security for the following amounts or equivalent amount in freely convertible currency:
    Lot 1 - USD 10,000
    Lot 2 - USD 7,000

Bids will be opened immediately after the deadline in the presence of the Bidder's representatives who choose to attend at the address above.

7.    PMU UCSA will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by Bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of Bids.

8.    In the comparison of Bids, ADB's Domestic Preference Scheme will be applied in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Bidding Document.
