Tamil Nadu has received finance from the Asian Development Bank towards the cost of Tsunami Emergency assistance (sector) Project ( TEAP ), Loan No. 2166-IND, Grant No. 0005- IND and intends to apply part of the proceeds for eligible payments towards the cost of consulting services for studying the existing District Supply and Marketing Societies and to develop a revamping strategy to facilitate marketing of products prepared by SHG members to promote income generation activities and enhance their income levels.

The Project Implementation Officer, Tsunami Project Implementation Unit, Chennai, invites applications from Consultants / consulting firms having experience in research, conceptualization and execution of such similar works in a pre-agreed project duration period. Detail requirements of the Consultants / consulting firms interested in participating in this project must submit the following documentation for evaluation:

  1. Consultant's/ consulting firm's profile
  2. Annual turnover from consulting services for the last three years should not be less than Rs.3 crores.
  3. Details of experience in executing similar projects i.e. developing new marketing strategies for marketing products in the rural and urban areas or formulating revamping of companies producing & marketing consumer/consumer durable products, strategies for developing new markets, etc., in the past five years.
  4. Availability of appropriate manpower for execution the aforesaid activities
  5. Annual audited accounts for the last three years.
  6. Experience in execution of projects in South India.
  7. Any other relevant information
Interested firms may submit their Expressions of Interest in sealed covers super scribed " EOI for revamping DSMS in Tsunami affected districts" latest by 17 May 2007 15.00 hours at the below given address.

Short listed firms/consultant will be invited to submit their detailed proposals for evaluation and implementation of the assignment. Evaluation of detailed proposals will be in accordance with the Guidelines on the Use of Consultants by ADB and its Borrowers .
