TA 4483: Capacity Building for Land Policy and AdministrationExecuting Agency:Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry TA Amount: (US$'000): 850.0 Objectives and Scope: The goal of the TA is to assist the Government in creating a national land policy and institutional framework for land administration that is fair, efficient, and sustainable. As such, the purpose of the TA is to assist the Government in putting in place a system that will (i) increase tenure security for farmers and other landholders, (ii) facilitate efficient land transactions and administration, and (iii) provide farmers and other landholders with greater control over land management through a full range of market choices. The TA is in support of an Agriculture Sector Program Loan. Consulting Services: 32 pm of international consultants and 24 pm of domestic consultants. The international consultant input will consist of two long-term specialists, a land policy and land administration/titling specialist for 12 pm each and a rural land tenure specialist for 4 pm. Project Processing Stage: Approved by the Bank on 15 December 2004 Recruitment of Consultants: The short listing is tentatively scheduled in September 2005.
