Improved farmers' capacity to reduce pre- and post-harvest losses and enhanced knowledge based and capacity of agricultural policies in the region

Project Outputs
Component 1 Subcomponent 1.1: New field resistance screening method and germplasm with durable field resistance to planthoppers and virus diseases identified. Strategies to manage virus spread in rice fields developed and implemented in pilot sites. Ecologically based management of outbreak pests developed and key sustainability indicators of pest breakouts monitored. Management practices integrating durable resistance and ecological methods evaluated and disseminated. NARES partners' research and extension capacities enhanced Subcomponent 1.2: Appropriate technologies and improved management options identified and piloted. Country-specific agricultural extension methodologies identified. Business models developed and verified on a pilot basis. National outreach programs include postharvest technologies and management options. Multistakeholder platforms established
