Project Impact
Project Impact: Quality of water resources management improved and progress of implementation of IWRM in Asia accelerated.

Project Outcome
The TA is expected to lead to PPTAs in the five selected river basins. The RAS is expected to be replicated in other river basins in the region where ADB and other funding agencies will invest in river basin management for IWRM. The TA is also expected to help RBOs improve their performance and adapt to changes in water management, in areas indicated above. It is also expected that the TA will showcase good practices in IWRM in the Asia-Pacific region and for the first time present a credible overview of the river basin management achievements of the region to be global water community.

Project Outputs
Expected outputs are (i) RBOs will be supported in preparing roadmaps for long-term integrated river basin investment programs; (ii) Roadmap Advisory Service (RAS) developed and piloted in five river basins for subsequent wider application; (iii) Country performance assessments for IWRM in river basins; (iv) Regional overview publication on the status of regional IWRM performance in river basins; (v) Online access and dissemination of IWRM publications and knowledge services improved; (vi) Knowledge products on priority topics for RBOs prepared and disseminated; (vii) Capacities of RBOs on IWRM developed in specific ares.

Consulting Services
ADB will engage the services of two international consultants, (i) a senior IWRM specialist (24 person-months); (ii) a knowledge management specialist (6 person-months). ADB will also engage 11 domestic consultants, (i) a TA coordinator (6 person months); and (ii) 10 projects specialists (2 person-months each, with expertise in either water resources, environment, or governance, as needed).
