Project Impact
Improved management of water resources in the Aral Sea Basin, primarily the Syr Darya and Amu Darya Rivers, to support sustainable development in Central Asia.

Project Outcome
1. Improved knowledge base for water management. 2. Policy dialogue and strengthened institutions for water management. 3. Improved capacity for water management at teh transboundary and national levels.

Project Outputs
Draft agreements for cooperation with regard to shared water resources for the Amu Darya and Syr Darya Rivers will be approved by the RETA Steering Committee. Additional outputs will include technical reports and studies, and meeting proceedings from both the Steering Committee and the National Technical Working Groups.
