Project Impact
Increased implementation of international standards in macro economic statistics with particular focus on the system of national accounts.

Project Outcome
Improved compliance with SNA 93 in GDP estimates.

Project Outputs
The key outputs will be :- (i) Estimation of GDP based on SNA 93 for the production account (ii) Establishment of Supply and Use framework for data gaps assessment (iii) Identification of administrative data sources as alternative to survey data. (iv) Development of framework to derive sufficiently detailed expenditure weights such as those required for PPP compilations. (v) Improved statistical capacity of national statistical officers This assistance will enable participating countries to position themselves to deal with the additional issues arising from the ongoing revision of SNA 93 (SNA 93 Revision 1) which is expected to be implemented in 2009.
