-
The RETA will enhance ADB's operational contribution to selected aspects of social protection in Asia, thereby further contributing to more inclusive and equitable growth.
- Project Outcome
-
Strengthen ADB's institutional capacity to deliver selected social protection programs to DMCs as part of the inclusive growth agenda. This will be accomplished through internal and external capacity building and strategic partnerships.
- Project Outputs

Based on the consultation with operational departments, particularly staff from EARG, SEGF, SAGF, SAAN, CWGF, and PAHQ as well as the pipeline of TAs and loans for 2008/2009, the RETA is likely to focus on the following priority initiatives: pension reform, social insurance, and social assistance, particularly in health and education financing such as conditional cash transfers.
2. Identification, through a participatory process, of medium-term social protection priorities and ADB's responses (financial support and knowledge) in selected DMCs.
3. Based on the results of the aforementioned outputs, recommendations for mainstreaming selected areas of social protection in ADB.
