Mobility and HIV/AIDS in the Greater Mekong Subregion

This Study provides information about current issues and situations, and analyzes the association between mobility and HIV/AIDS within the Greater Mekong Subregion.

Highlights of the Mobility Study are:

  • descriptions of the nature of movement within and between countries
  • descriptions of the cycles of migration
  • identification of risk situations and geographical "hot spots" for HIV transmission
  • descriptions of the characteristics of mobile people and migrant communities.

The Mobility Study also includes an easy-to-understand "typology" of mobile groups according to gender, age, occupation and other criteria.
