IV. Country Performance and Lending Level

A. Lending Level Proposed

23. While calling attention to the issues discussed in paras. 6 and 21, an IPF level of $150 million per year is proposed for 2003-2005. Table A1.9 in Appendix 1 shows the lending program. The present IPF level is $150 million per year and it is proposed that this level be retained. However, the successful completion of the SMP may require a certain increase above that level in the first year after the completion, most likely in 2003. The level of assistance could taper off in the subsequent years resulting in a three-year average of $150 million per annum.

B. Nonlending Program

24. The CSPU includes TA program only for 2003-2004 and covers 15 projects amounting to $6.9 million. This is beyond the IPF. Other sources of funding will be sought to ensure delivery of the proposed projects. The nonlending program is in Appendix 1, Table A1.10.

C. Summary of Changes to Lending and Nonlending Program

25. The main changes from the previous CSPU are given in the table. Project concept papers for both lending and nonlending products are attached in Appendixes 2 and 3. 28
