The Workshop on the PRC/GEF Partnership on Land Degradation Prevention and Control, was held on July 30-31, 2001 at the Chinese Academy of Forestry in Beijing. The Workshop comprised two sessions, a Training Session on 30 July and a Brainstorming Session on 31 July.

Background
Training Session on the PRC/GEF Partnership and Brainstorming Session on developing a Country Programming Framework (CPF)
Objectives
At the end of the workshop, participants will have:
- Better understood the roles of PRC, GEF, ADB and other partners in the Partnership
- Better understood the principles and concept underlying the Partnership
- Analyzed and better understood the linkages between the various underlying causes of land degradation in PRC
- Prepared for the next steps in Partnership development, including the roles and responsibilities of individual ministries

- Draft CPF logical framework
- Commitment of individuals ministries and organizations to contributing to the development of the CPF
