Conference on Poverty, Growth, and the Role of Institutions in DMCs
ADB Auditorium Zones A, B and C, 10-12 October 2001

Purpose

The conference aims to help deepen understanding of the relationship between economic growth and poverty reduction by examining the role of institutional, political, and socio-cultural factors.

Target Participants

The conference will be attended by high-level government officials from Asia, representatives from international organizations and bilateral agencies, academics, representatives from NGOs and other civil society groups, and ADB staff.

• President Arroyo will deliver the inaugural address
• Professor Assar Lindbeck of Stockholm University will give the keynote speech
