Consultation Workshop on the Strategic Framework for ADB Assistance to Agriculture and Rural Development
ADB Headquarters, Manila, Philippines, 25-26 November 2002
The consultation workshop aims to:
- review and solicit input into the Strategic Framework for ADB assistance to agriculture and rural development
- assess the relevance and applicability of the strategic thrusts outlined in the ADB Framework document for DMC country strategy preparation
- assess the realism, coverage, and focus of the ADB framework, in light of diverse country conditions and varying national priorities
At the end of the workshop, participants would have:
- identified and analyzed the areas where the Strategic Framework can complement their respective national strategies for agricultural and rural development
- gained lessons and insights from experiences of DMCs including various stakeholders in pursuing agriculture and rural development
- contributed substantially in improving the Strategic Framework for ADB Assistance to agriculture and rural development
- an improved ADB framework document that has incorporated the views and suggestions of various stakeholders
- a document that would assist ADB operations staff in improving ADB assistance to agriculture and rural development
Participants will come from
- representatives of selected developing member countries

- development agencies
