Objectives

The conference will enable the participants to

  • gain common understanding of the concept of IWRM and promote concrete actions towards the implementation of IWRM
  • propose a concrete methodology for development of IWRM and water efficiency plans by 2005
  • promote sharing of experience, knowledge and expertise among the north and between the north and the south toward the preparation and implementation of IWRM and water efficiency plans

Organizers

The event is organized by the Japan Water Forum (JWF), a new organization established at the 3rd World Water Forum in Japan to translate the vision, discussions and commitments of the Forum into concrete action.

JWF collaborated with various partners to conduct this event, among them Danish Water Forum, Global Water Partnership (GWP), Netherlands Water Partnership, UNDESA, World Water Council (WWC), and Global Environment Facility (GEF).
