Stakeholders' Meeting on Dhaka City Solid Waste to Electric Energy Project

Post-workshop Statement

The Stakeholders' Meeting provided a venue for the stakeholders to know more about the proposed projects and express their concerns. All the participants were of the opinion that the proposed project be undertaken for implementation considering its positive social and environmental implications irrespective of its financial viability.

Purpose

This meeting aims to get the participation of the different stakeholders' groups that may be affected by the proposed project and solicit their comments and suggestions.

Objectives

The objectives of the meeting are to:

  • present the technical aspects of the proposed waste to electricity project;
  • discuss the economic, social and environmental aspects of the project;
  • document the views and comments of the meeting participants from various stakeholders' groups.

Expected Outputs

Target Participants:

  • National and local government representatives
  • Representatives from the private sector, research institutes, schools, media, BCAS and UNDP.
