Second Regional Training and Planning Workshop on Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency and Greenhouse Gas Abatement

Participants
at this workshop improved their technical capacity in developing
project pre-feasibility studies. Country participants had
the opportunity to present their accomplishments under the
PREGA project and discuss their planned project activities
for Phase 2 of the project.

The 4-day workshop brought the key national counterpart agency
(NCA) and national technical expert (NTE) representatives from participating
PREGA countries to
- Present the results of activities under Phase 1 of the project
(country-level reports and project pre-feasibility studies)
- Launch Phase 2 and discuss its overall and respective country
work plans
- Exchange information and knowledge on barriers and strategies
pertaining to institutional, policy, market and financing issues
in the energy efficiency and renewable energy sectors
At the end of the workshop, participants had:
- Enhanced their capacity on the preparation of pre-feasibility
studies (technical, economic, and financial analysis) of renewable
energy, energy efficiency and greenhouse gas abatement projects
- Been briefed on the project activities to be implemented in
Phase 2 and started to develop their country work plans for Phase
2.
