The Fourth Transport Sector Coordinating Committee (TSCC) Meeting was held on 12-13 October 2005 in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic. The Government of Kyrgyz Republic hosted the meeting with the support of the Asian Development Bank. The meeting brought together government officials from member countries of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) program, including Azerbaijan, People's Republic of China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Representatives from multilateral institutions (European Bank for Development and Reconstruction, Islamic Development Bank, United Nations Development Programme and the World Bank) participated in the meeting.
Participants reviewed and endorsed the Regional Transport Sector Roadmap Implementation Plan and the TSCC workplan for 2006. The meeting discussed studies on the harmonization and simplification of cross-border agreements, documentation, and transport regulations in CAREC participating countries, and the potential for liberalization of the aviation sector in Central Asia.
