The objectives of the meeting are:
- to present the outcome of activities carried out in Phase I of PREGA to all key stakeholders
- to enhance the capacity of local energy players in identifying financial sources and establishing specialized financial mechanisms for REGA projects
- to build the capacity of local financial institutions (local banks, cooperatives and small and medium enterprises) in REGA project evaluation and appraisal
- to identify and search for solutions of existing barriers with respect to technical, financial, economic, social, policy and institutional aspects for dissemination of REGA technologies

At the end of the workshop, the participants
- would be aware of the activities and would be updated with the outcome of PREGA Phase I
- could identify financial sources and develop specialized financial mechanisms for REGA projects
- have identified solutions to barriers in REGA technology dissemination

About 75 key stakeholders from the government, private/financial sector, NGOs, research institutions, donors etc. will participate in the workshop.
