Network of Asian River Basin Organizations (NARBO) launched the Performance Benchmarking System and Peer Review Process for river basin organizations (RBOs) on 3 September 2005 at the 2nd Southeast Asia Water Forum in Bali, Indonesia. The launch involved the 11 pilot RBOs for the Benchmarking System that were identified at the NARBO Members Consultation on Benchmarking of RBOs in November 2004.
The launching of performance benchmarking system for RBOs is in-line with NARBO's goal of achieving and promoting integrated water resources management (IWRM) in monsoon areas of Asia.
