The Seminar on Trade Facilitation and One-Stop Service, co-sponsored by ADB, Thailand Customs Department and World Customs Organization (WCO), was held in Bangkok, Thailand last 27-29 July 2005. The seminar promoted modern customs practices and supported the joint customs control pilot project of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic. The seminar also presented modern customs tools for trade facilitation developed by WCO, and highlighted Thai Customs’efforts and experiences in customs reforms and modernization.

The seminar also featured Working Group (WG) discussions chaired by PRC Customs, on three topics: (i) harmonization of customs procedures and documentation (led by PRC), (ii) joint customs control (led by Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic) and (iii) regional transit development (led by the Kyrgyz Republic and Kazakhstan).

The Seminar brought together 24 customs officials from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, People's Republic of China, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
