Regional Gender Trends
ADB Headquarters, Manila, Philippines: 30 May 2006, 12:00 noon, RSDD Conference Room 4654 East
Background | Purpose | Target Participants
Given the diversity of gender issues in Asia and the Pacific, it is important for development practitioners to understand the particular local, national and regional conditions that give rise to gender inequalities, and the impact of economic and other trends on gender relations in particular countries. ADB’s External Forum on Gender and Development (EFG) includes senior gender experts from various member countries, working in different disciplines and issue areas. Their terms of reference include keeping ADB informed of gender-related developments in the region and of innovative approaches to mainstreaming gender concerns in development operations.
