Forum on Trade Facilitation and Customs Reform and Modernization

Tokyo, Japan: 17 - 19 April 2006

The Forum on Trade Facilitation and Customs Reform and Modernization, co-sponsored by ADB, ADB Institute, Japan Customs Administration and the World Customs Organization (WCO), will be held on 17-19 April 2006 in Tokyo, Japan.

The Forum will focus on the experience of Japan on customs reform, in particular, issues pertaining to customs modernization and risk management. It will provide an opportunity for the country delegates to visit Tokyo Customs Office and to exchange views and ideas with the Tokyo Customs officials. The Forum also aims to present modern customs tools for trade facilitation developed by WCO.

The Forum will bring together 16 heads/deputy heads and senior officials of customs administrations from Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, People's Republic of China, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
