The three-day workshop provided the participants with practical lessons and tools in managing organizational resources, confronting leadership challenges, and managing partnerships toward successful implementation of plans and programs in the Pacific context.
It was attended by 20 senior ranking executives representing government, private sector, and civil society from seven south Pacific Developing Member Countries (PDMCs), namely: the Cook Islands, Fiji Islands, Nauru, Samoa, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu.
It had an interactive mix of learning approaches, such as group work, lecture-discussion, case study, role plays, video presentation, and study visit.
istinguished resource persons were invited to deliver presentations and facilitate discussions dealing with topics on implementation, leadership, and strategic plans and programs. They included three professors from the University of South Pacific, i.e., Dr. RD Pathak, Dr. Narendra Reddy, and Dr. Akanisi Kedrayate; the former Governor of Hawaii, George Ariyoshi; Dr. Lawrence Jones, Chair of the International Management Network; former Philippine Budget Secretary, Emilia Boncodin; and Executive Director of Gawad Kalinga (Give Care Program), Antonio Meloto.

This workshop aims to provide practical guide to participants on how to ensure successful and effective implementation of strategic plans and programs despite the constraints and limitations in the South Pacific countries.

At the end of the workshop, participants will:
- know practical insights, approaches, and tools to ensure effective implementation of strategic plans and programs
- develop their own perspectives and models for successful implementation within their respective contexts; and
- design action points to enhance implementation of plans and programs.
