7 April 2006:
ADB Headquarters, Manila, Philippines
Purpose | Expected Outputs | Participants
In the context of ADB's work to engage more effectively and efficiently with Middle Income Countries (MICs)1 , ADB and the World Bank are co-hosting a consultation meeting with senior officials from various Asian MICs.
The objectives of the consultation meeting would be to:
- assess whether the current set of reforms under adoption and implementation by MDBs are sufficient to meet MIC development needs;
- assess the constraints both at the country and MDB levels in implementing the above-mentioned reforms;
- demonstrate to MICs that the relevant MDBs are working in partnership to address their development concerns, including harmonizing their policies and procedures and providing coherent support; and
- underline the fact that stronger partnership among MDBs is the way to scale up the impact of MDBs' support to MICs.
