2nd BEMCA Roundtable for EAGA Media

Purpose | Objectives | Expected Outputs | Target Participants

To enhance the exchange and dissemination of news and information on the East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) throughout the subregion.

At the end of the workshop, participants will have:

  • Been updated on recent developments in BIMP-EAGA
  • Been briefed on initiatives of the BIMP-EAGA Media and Communicators Association (BEMCA)
  • Identified gaps in public awareness of BIMP-EAGA and in the delivery of EAGA news and information
  • Discussed measures to address those gaps

Top

  • Proposed specific mechanisms, in particular a media news exchange, to implement the BIMP-EAGA Communications Strategy, with private media involved as active partners
  • A signed joint statement by participants on promoting the establishment of an EAGA News and Information Exchange within their respective media organizations

Participation is by invitation only:

Senior journalists, wire service representatives, and public information officers from Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines, as well as officers of the BEMCA Protem Committee.
