Emerging Asian Regionalism: Ten Years After the Crisis

Asian Development Bank Institute, Tokyo Japan: 1-2 November 2007

The aim of this workshop is to review how Asian countries underwent two decades of dramatic change, from the rapid economic growth of the mid-1990s, to the large setbacks during the crisis, to the renewed sustained expansion of today a decade after the 1997-98 Asian financial countries with focus on Asian regionalism.

  • review how countries were able to transform crisis into opportunities;
  • analyze issues related to the financial, trade, and investment sectors; and
  • discuss the future of Asia and perspectives for deepening regional cooperation and integration
