Asian Risk Management Forum 2007: How to Manage Sovereign Risks

On 11-12 October, ADB, together with 18 other sponsors, organized the 8th annual Asian Risk Management Forum 2007: How to Manage Sovereign Risks . The event was held in Singapore and organized in cooperation with International Enterprise Singapore and the Singapore Business Federation. The sponsors included public and private political risk insurers, MIGA from the World Bank Group, the IMF, insurance brokers, law firms and local and foreign commercial banks. The event brought together experts in the field of political risk insurance, including practitioners and buyers of insurance, to hear about current issues and trends in the industry, with a particular focus on Asia. Also attending the Forum were a number of the Asian Export Import Banks from some of Asia's developing member countries. They had participated the day before in a workshop organized by ADB in Singapore on "How to Assess Country Risks".
