Seminar on Policy Support for Cross-border Contract Farming

This seminar will provide an opportunity for an exchange of information and views of those who are involved in agricultural development on how to promote Contract Farming in the subregion.

The objectives of this seminar are to:

  • To identify appropriate policy support conducive to successful cross-border Contract Farming
  • To recommend lines of actions which may be taken in response to policy support

The expected outcomes of the workshop are:

  • Plan of actions
  • Recommended policy support for Cross-border Contract Farming

The seminar participants will include GMS representatives in agriculture, finance, planning and energy; development partners from IFAD, CGIAR, and resource persons. The outputs of the workshop will feed into national strategies for policy formulation in contract farming in the GMS.
